A Fear Of Mine - Poem by Nieninque Nohin

I thought there would be more like us
More like you and me
I walked for miles to find them but
None like could I see

I walked across the deserts
Across the fields of sand
But no-one had a story
I could not understand

I made it through the jungle
And out the other side
But no-one came to greet me
Or tell me I'm alive.

I thought there would be more like us
More minds that are set free
But now I see it isn't so
Just wasn't meant to be.
