A French Girl With Spanish Eyes Poem by KAVIN CHARALAN

A French Girl With Spanish Eyes

A French girl with Spanish Eyes
Walking in English style
Entered an Indian Restaurant on the street
Bearer came and placed on her table
A plate of Idlis and two bowels of Chutni and Sambar
The girl asked for a drink
The bearer told her this is no alcohol bar
This is only Idli Dosa & Coffee Shop!
The girl got up and said sorry with a smile
Then the bearer told her your blue eyes are beautiful!
The girl felt happy and sat back
And ate the Idlis with knife and fork in western style
She took hot green chilly coconut chutni spoon by spoon
And drank hot red chilly dal sambar in one gulp!
Oh nocame the tears from her blue eyes like summer rain
Seeing this bearer said now you look like river Nile
She laughed paid the bill with splendid tips
There the French girl with Spanish Eyes
Flows like river Nile with Cleopatra's pride
Out of IndianIdli shop!
