A Friend Is Born Poem by Mohamedkhadar Yussuf

A Friend Is Born

It started with a simple action.

No, I can't mention that action, it's a treasure,

One I will ever keep to myself and, maybe, share with that friend.

A friend is born out of nowhere but now is holding,

Clinging onto somewhere.

A friend is born out of millions of people and this chemistry is working,

Working beyond believes.

It seemed automatic, it didn't need time.

It just cemented itself and we were both in awe.

I know there was a sense of bonhomie in both of us

And it needed no explanation.

It grew and grew and grew and now,

It is big, bigger than planet earth.

I couldn't stop but think and think about how first we bonded.

I never wanted to turn back, never wanted to think about it once

For what that friend showed was more than friendship.

It's so sweet a friendship and I want to swim in it till the end of me

And so do my new friend.
