A Fruitless Attempt At Life Poem by Ros Venn

A Fruitless Attempt At Life

I am alone in my mind,
A million thoughts per minute,
Comfort is not my kind,
The struggle if infinite.

Tomorrow will go bye,
Not a thing will change,
I will let out a sigh,
Though not bound by chains.

Escape I may some day,
But old wounds will fester,
And into the fray I'll dismay,
I'll not be the successor.
