A Moment In The Sun Poem by Ros Venn

A Moment In The Sun

Just for a moment in the darkness of a clouded sky,
I looked up and saw the brightness the sun gives,
Now I'm not a really cheery guy,
But in that brief second, is where happiness lives.

Blinded by the unhindered light,
I forgot all my troubles and woes,
Because the sun was shining so bright,
The clouds move again and the sun goes.

Darkness engulfs the world once again,
But I remain hopeful that the sun may be returning,
If it does, please tell me when,
Or else I'll wait till the back of my neck is burning.
