My heart I gave to you
like a mother gives birth
to her new born child.

I placed it in your care
trusting that you will put it
somewhere close

Close so that you feel the
beating of my heart
Each beat symbolizing I'm alive
Each beat given to you as a gift from me to you.

As long as you have this gift from me
you will now know how much I love you.

But don't abuse it because it's delicate
Don't drop it because it will break
Don't drag it through the dirt
because then it will become tinted
Don't neglect it because then it will be empty
filled with nothing.

So I place this
delicate, fragile, kind, filled with love for you
heart in your hands because I Love You!
