A Girl With Dreams Poem by Rick De La Pena

A Girl With Dreams

See her dancing in the sand
She was looking for someone's hand.
See her flying along
She's been doing it all wrong.
Life's ups and downs; she has had plenty
Down the broken road; riding the twenty.
A Girl with Dreams.

She's a victim of her good senses
On bent knees arise her defenses
Oh, the damage done
She's in life's long run
A Girl with Dreams.

Her Back to the wall
She Vows, not ever to fall
Never Losing Grip
Deep Cuts on her Fingertips
A Girl with Dreams
She does by all means
become a Woman with Vision
while still in her teens.
