A Golden Gem Poem by Abubakar Mohammed Musa

A Golden Gem

A golden gem shines,
Shines like how sun shines,
Having rays like evening sun,
Soft and lustrous like reed,
Augmenting robustly like
May's musky clouds.

A golden gem full of a good life,
A good life of a good time,
A time that created fourteen golden days in May,
The month of unending blessings,
The month that bears great natural abilities.

A golden gem that has golden growth,
In which magnanimity lives,
Which justice and trustworthy accompany,
Transparency is its girlfriend,
The girl that has soft heart and tolerancy,
Golden gem belongs to dignity,
Respects and epitomes it has,
Egoism and smarmy people think it has,
Empathy and herculean are all it has.

It's incumbent to celebrate its birthday,
Though people marginalize it everyday,
Wringing out the relish in it,
Hitting it with swarm of rubbles,
People mouthing it with harsh bubbles,
But it's unchangeable,
Because God is more than capable,
Its time has whirled around again,
So happy birthday to a golden gem again,
Happy birthday to a golden gem
That has a golden soul,
A golden brain and a golden mind.
