A Havoc Poem by Blue Valentine

A Havoc

It's been so long.
This morning I could no longer recall the taste of your eyelids
(can you believe it?)
and it broke my heart
all over again
Maybe you're no longer real
(were you ever?)
Love, why don't you come?
Let me at least kiss you goodbye

Appear again on my doorstep
all dramatically in love,
(like you used to)
and bring melissa tea,
will you?
I will listen faithfully about
all of its health benefits to my kidneys
because that's better than a thousand 'I love you'
(I know it now)
but then ask me to marry you,
will you?

Let's name our children after the shades of blue.
I'll forget everything,
and lull you to sleep.
With your favorite tune.
