A Hinterlander's Sensibilities Poem by Kumaara Sukeja

A Hinterlander's Sensibilities

A HINTERLANDER'S SENSIBILITIES

' Gandhi- yes, I remember...
Had heard he was a good man.

He made the lands greener
And, there was ROTI for all...

NATION? you mean ROTI?
He loved his ROTIS- he had earned it!

I do. Love my ROTIS!

KAPDA? MAKAAN?
You are kidding!

If you have enough food, nothing to worry-
God will take care (OF THE REST?) .

ANTI-NATIONAL? .. you mean..
Heh! Heh!
He who cannot eat ROTIS?
Doesn't, therefore, love them?

What... nation is not a ROTI? ...
Then, I am sure, you're HIM! '
