A Journey On The Path Of Grief......For An 'Angel Mummy' Poem by Rachel Loveday

A Journey On The Path Of Grief......For An 'Angel Mummy'

As you join the path of grief
The road, it looks so long
your aching arms so empty
should you carry on?

From the mist, the warmest hand
reaches out and touches yours
Another angel mummy smiles
a special friend for sure

A sea of friendly faces
Standing in the rain
they say 'we walk this path together'
and we share in all your pain.

Some of us have walked for longer
and the steps have become less hard
we carry the saddest mummies
when the path becomes too dark

At times your feet will hurt
and you'll feel the need to stop
and sometimes you'll fall when its to tough
but your friends will pick you up.

It will sometimes seem the road has changed
and become the deepest river
A huge mass of lonely water
with the coldest chill of winter

Your body might get cold and tired
but fear not....you will not drown
your hand is still held tightly
and you'll soon reach solid ground

Out of the water, the path is dry
A smile creeps on your face
Each step you take seems less hard
and you begin to pick up pace

Another mummy joins the path
her tears bring stormy weather
you touch her arm and take her hand
'we walk this path together'
