A Kiss With Open Eyes Poem by Mwanangwa Zombe

A Kiss With Open Eyes

With empty pockets I make to pay my respects
To the fools who cruise through life's course
When the eventual end is a transition to death
For these, my heart's appeal knows no remorse
As for those who whirl deep in the pools of faith
Often drown before ever getting to its source

Farewell oh skeptic minds with faithful hearts
The sovereign; seldom windblown so reputed wise
As they trust not emotions of the gullible heart
And so shall embrace a kiss with open eyes
For when glitter and gold can hardly be set apart
The truth is not too far-off from the lies

The sovereign; seldom windblown so reputed wise
And so shall embrace a kiss with open eyes
