'A Land Of Inequality' Poem by Samuel Bassey (Samco)

'A Land Of Inequality'

A LAND OF INEQUALITY.

I come from a country that is blessed,
But some people have no regard for national identity,
Truly, I must say, the inhabitants are not well pleased,
Because leaders have worsened the situation, lacking integrity.
People dispense money like water carelessly everywhere they go and fall victim to restrictions,
They end up being arrested and questioned for their source of income,
While the actual abusers of this paper (naira) , the leaders have buried public funds with no consideration,
Lawlessness, partiality, and confusion are now the outcome.
Here we are entrusting our money in the hands of criminals,
Still, they defraud us by issuing fake currency, oh! Central bank of thieves,
In collaboration with the EFCC, squandering public funds has become recreational,
Not minding the level of pain and suffering they've caused in people's lives.
Why should we continue to remain subject to these leaders?
When it's obvious they only take pride in causing blunders.
