A Last Piece Of Advice Poem by Jason Cummings

A Last Piece Of Advice

Rating: 4.5

It's fine for you to call me out, filled with judgement, pain, or doubt.
But when I offer up the same, you break the rules, won't play the game.

So as a last piece of advice, I say to you we should not fight.
Should not judge, nor make up rules. Should not say things to be cruel.

Should not gossip or pretend, piling on to life's loose ends.
And over time our love may mend, but as for now, we'll at least be friends.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Written as a reply to a post from a friend on Facebook. She had posted, 'It is fine for you to call me out but when I do it your feelings get hurt.' She seemed upset, so I wrote her this poem as guidance for both her, and the person she is referencing in her comment.
