A Letter. Poem by Frazer Watson

A Letter.

Rating: 4.5

Peggy,

You want me to show you a poem, and I will. But let me tell you first why I am so scared to write anything or show anything that I've ever written.

Believe me when I say to you, I know that silence is torture.

Whenever I write, I can do nothing else than write from myself. But when I look at myself, I see something twisted out of all recognition by the pain of silent torture and suffering. I feel that my heart has been contorted into something monsterous and ugly by all kinds of sin.

If I write poetry for you and the whole world to see, and you confirm to me what I already see, I'll know for certain what I am, and that's the greatest fear for me.

I will write something for you, but it will take me a minute to gain the courage to try and let my darkness shine.

Bear with me, I promise I will try.
