A Letter To Just Doing My Job Poem by Ella Roussel

A Letter To Just Doing My Job

Who's who they think they know
Who knows what things they don't.
Don't be fooled to know doesn't mean
You have indemnity.
Doing your job is not at all a reason,
For you to commit acts of treason.
Treason not against the ones who employ
But every girl and every boy.
Don't fool yourself, don't be mad
No one here is glad but sad,
Because when we see you turn your back,
Lifting up your full sack,
We see that you have traded right
For something as black as night.
You've traded life and honesty,
For money and your own prosperity. But it's not too late
Please don't wait,
You can try to make amend,
It's never too late to break the trend.
Don't be afraid of what you'll lose,
Just be sure you don't abuse.
Too many people say the words you say.
Don't let yourself be that way.
Don't turn your back don't give in.
Tell the truth and begin
To rebuild what you helped destroy,
So we can have a future paved in light.
