A Life Less Learned Poem by Janet Mulligan

A Life Less Learned

Rating: 3.5

You are the magician
I am the moon
I reflect and enlighten from darkness
You perfect the art of the Alchemist
Together we can create and manifest
Our hearts content as we see it best
Let's clean our slate for what's at stake
Making adventure is enticing and pure
For surely this is no mystery to you
You saw it once tried and true
Has fear and doubt become brand new?
Where have the wolves gone baying?
Careful now to build with faith
Nothing is granted without the gift of fate
Time is the sword wielded by you
Muse I not with the upmost prose
Is of loveless pots of emptied rose
I've seen us wearing our nose with our toes
This is the dance and we dream as we wish
Gratitude is graciously awaiting its Swan
See I me inside of you?
Believe it's true so I can change things too
Beautiful is the sea that is us that it is between
Now it's time to see the snake gone unseen
Notice the changing pace you set is pleasing you
Forgive me yet, I beg without regrets
Let me learn to weave and watch as you do
So you can teach me to see within myself
We've suffered enough
It's time to build without gruff
No shields or swords are sets of skills
I thought before I grew through you
Wonder pervades and is the human sage
But listening is wise and must come from within
What you hear is not simultaneously for me
Because you are the Magician
And I am the opportune Moon
