A Life's Journey Poem by Jim Coleman

A Life's Journey

Rating: 5.0

What have I achieved?
I've made no waves:
the shore remains unchanged
I've wielded no new brooms:
the ground remains uncleared.

I've moved no mountains.
Heaven and earth remain the same.
.
But trickling down I found my way
quite successfully
by seeping through
the cracks and crevices
of the world's stage
to the basement floor.
.
And here I am
waiting to evaporate,
leaving a darker patch
on loved ones' hearts
until the next day
dries me
out.
