A Little Here, A Little There Poem by Michael P. Johnson

A Little Here, A Little There

A LITTLE HERE, A LITTLE THERE
When famine reigned throughout the land
God met His servant's need
He sent him to a brook, and planned
From ravens there to feed

Thus quenched the brook Elijah's thirst
The birds brought daily meat
Whilst three plus years God's people cursed
Stooping their filth to eat

From this we need to understand
There's famine still today
We keep God's rain from off our land
When sin leads us astray

We often lax in things we do
The duties we perform
We fail to keep The Heaven in view
We fail to stand the storm

A little here, a little there
How deep is Satan's plot?
We fail with God our time to share
Till often quite forgot

We must be true to He who died
To Christ we must return
For only then will God provide
For only then, we'll learn

Best pray The Lord would hear our cry
That through His gracious will
He'd cause us by a brook to lie
And there receive our fill

Complete in Christ, God's living Son
Strengthened in Heaven's Might
The Father's will, should now be done
Until we've won the fight..…
