A Little Love Then Alot Of Pain Poem by Holly Quinn

I’ve been trying to make sense of love,
Been trying to understand what is meant to be so good about it,
And to be honest I don’t know.
I don’t see the point in it all,
The hurt, pain, sadness and the broken hearts.
What’s the point in a minute of happiness,
And then a whole life time of heartache?

I’ve been told “I love you”,
I’ve said “I Love You”,
But when it comes down to it,
‘I love you means nothing to me but pain.
A pain what should never be felt by anyone,
Because it will break your world in two.
Trust me I should know because I’m feeling it right now,
For the man that I thought I meant everything to!

Well at least I thought I did, I even wished I did,
But one thing after another just started going wrong,
He thought he could walk all over me,
And started treating me like I was nothing and then….
I ended it, and my whole life along with it.
If I could even try to describe the pain I would,
But I can’t, because there are no words for it.

So trust me when I say never fall in love,
Never say “I Love You”,
And no matter what never ever,
Let anyone say “I Love You” to you,
Because trust me, after hearing those three words,
Its only a matter of time,
And then
Your heart will break,
Your faith will fall,
Your hope will vanish,
And there will be no life worth fighting for at all.
