A Little Rain, A Little Love Poem by Valarie Paterson

A Little Rain, A Little Love

A lone wilting Daisy
shriveld up
like a sun dried raisin
hunched over
like a cakaling witch
Dying

The sun beats down strong
down on this defenseless angel
as if she had commited a sin

Day after day
hour after hour
minute after minute
her soul withers away

A sudden shadow looms over
what more desppair is to come?
what more could come?

Thump thump thump
Her stem begins to straighten
Her petals blooming
Her roots holding firm

What had happened?
she felt so strong
confident, for the first time
amazing what some rain can do

Unbelievable what a little love can do
