A Little Sunshine On My Hair Poem by Suki Nakamura

A Little Sunshine On My Hair

Rating: 5.0

you promised to give me warmth
even a little
even a single ray from the sun of your care
like a lock of hair
that i can keep in my palm
i shall take it
i am in need of it

it is cold in here
the wind keeps on blowing
and i am closing my door and windows
outside it is still snowing
and i still wonder if summer is coming
the frost by the window
the mist in the hills
the blur in my eyes
but despite all these
i shall keep looking
i shall keep my palms warm
i shall think of you

I love the simple language in here. With small words you seem capable of building pyramids and moving mountains single-handedly. My hat's off to you..(smile)
