A Little Task Poem by Robert Longley

A Little Task

You’ve done so much already
I really hate to ask
But there is one thing missing
It’s just a little task

A wish I made at seven
I never got to see
If you would take my child
It would mean a lot to me

It won’t happen tomorrow
Or for some time to go
But you are the connection
That will allow him me to know

So take it as a challenge
A second chance of such
You’ll find we’re very much alike
It would really mean so much
