A Belated Thank You Poem by Robert Longley

A Belated Thank You

Many times I faltered
And many times I’d fall
But each time you were with me
To get me through it all

A much belated thank you
I didn’t say enough
So much we take for granted
With life’s unpleasant stuff

But now no more excuses
No second chance to try
Those moments all too fleeting
As our lives go rushing by

There’s much I would do different
And some I’d rearrange
But I had your love forever
And that I’d never change
