A Lonely Knight Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

A Lonely Knight

A lonely knight
A sing knight
A solitary knight
Through the narrow streets of Mdina
Was swaggering like a pendulum
He knocked this door
He knocked that window
Then the street's other side
None opened in that Silent Town
For mid-night was well past
And the red cheeks of Dawn
Were showing a little rouge
Into that old sill town
As usual
As usual
Dawn, Day, Sunset, Dusk and Night.
