A LOOK AT LIFE-104
BY-SMRUTI RANJAN MOHANTY
NOTHING IN BETWEEN YOU AND ME
Bubbles of air we are
What separates you and me
Are the layers outer
Our selfish wills
Ego and jealousy
Craving for a better life
Acquisitive instinct
Luxury and necessities
Which never allow us to come out
Keep us deep inside the bubble
Get over these
Remove that outer layer
Which separates you from the rest
See! how beautiful life is
What separates you and me
Except for our love and hatred
Sorrow and happiness
Get over these
In no time
I will be you and you will be me
What separates you and me
Only passion and expectations
Greed and hypocrisy
Get over these
Life will be a journey divine
What separates you and me
Except for pairs of opposites
Get over these
There will be no difference
Between mine and thine
What separates you and me
Except for false vanity,
A desire to excel and go-ahead,
A struggle for identity
Get over these
Life will be poetry sublime
What separates you and me
Except for our make belief identity
Possessive individuality
Get over these
Bright sunshine will let
The outer layers wither
What remains is consciousness pure
And we will be one and same
Moving in timeless time.
