A Lot Has Changed Poem by Md Musa

A Lot Has Changed

The events of the journey are all past,
In one room, we gathered, memories amassed.
Where did the brother go, our bond shattered?
No longer in a house, our lives scattered.

Where did my sister go, lost in the fray?
No longer in a house, where did she stray?
Mother ventured to the land of no return,
Leaving me with a heart that yearns.

It pains me to think, all lost in a flash,
My childhood, once vibrant, turned to ash.
We were together, a united kin,
Now everything's lost, gone with the wind.

So much has changed, the world rearranged,
Correspondence now confined, messages exchanged.
In mobile message boxes, we talk today,
But much has been lost, slipped away.

The moon, the sun, the planets, the stars,
Remain untouched, steadfast from afar.
But people, oh people, they've changed their ways,
And I'm left here, in this bewildering maze.

Short-lived are the moments, fleeting and fast,
In this free verse of life, they never last.
Yet, amidst the chaos and constant motion,
I find solace in poetry's tender devotion.
