A Love Story Poem by Kaiza Abaincia

A Love Story

We held hands and tried
Our love is what we cried
People around we didn't mind
The pasts we left behind

A will burns in our eyes
Can defy even a million miles
But if we got no luck and dice
Can we twist the verdict of skies?

This maybe is the saddest fight
For regardless is our strength and might.
A need to rein in this plight
Coz everything is simply not right.

Like strings detached of kites
In a battle, we're wounded knights
Hoping to heal from a hack,
Finding our ways back.

If today we cannot be
Then tomorrow let us see.
This faith we have to deem
Now a fallacy, it seem.

The truth we have to keep
That warrior also submit
Raise white flag for defeat
Has moment to end the fleet

For who are we, my mate
If our supreme foe is fate?
