A Lover's Grief Poem by Mohammed Farhath

I never imagined a day would come,
When you'd go away from me
Leaving me hapless and alone,
And how hard that would be.

The heartache that I have endured
Is more than words can tell,
All I see is visions of you,
For I have loved so well.

You'll never know how much it hurts
Without you here by my side,
Hard to accept that you are gone
The sadness within is too much to hide.

I cannot forget that fateful day
When you were laid to eternal rest;
And how that sight pricked my heart
Which throbbed with pain inside my breast

One day, perhaps, I'll move on
And start my life anew,
Yet, my lady, as long as I breathe,
My heart will always beat for you.
