A Lucky Man Poem by Tor Magnor Solvang

A Lucky Man

The years stacked up, a heavy toll,
My body creaked, lost all control.
A business strained, a future dim,
Without a lifeline, limb by limb.

The doctors frowned, the bills piled high,
Our health insurance, my saving sky.
It caught me when I started to fall,
Answered the desperate, silent call.

And more than that, a steady hand,
My wife, my rock, in this troubled land.
She fought for me, with fierce embrace,
A love that time cannot erase.

Without her strength, I wouldn't be,
This man alive, for all to see.
So lucky, yes, beyond compare,
To have such love, and breathe this air.

Grateful heart, a humble plea,
For every soul who helped save me.
The doctors, nurses, standing tall,
Insurance catched me, after the fall.
