A Man And His Dream Poem by GavinTyrone Stewart

A Man And His Dream

I had a dream.
Maybe a farfetched notion.
To serve the world.
Full heart and emotion.

With many years of pondering.
Whilst preparing and training.
But now only left wondering.
Questioning and straining.

I looked up above.
For answers on life.
With covet and love.
Now found my wife.

Now I am the searcher.
For reasons to stay.
For this relationship to nurture.
Or disappear I may?

God be my witness.
For what's in my heart.
Fault of this sickness.
Which way do I part?

A hero of family or a hero of war?
A choice of love or a choice of hate?
Either way it will be sore.
Whilst only God knows my fate.

I truly love her.
But is she my cure?
However, victorious I'll be.
Just wait you'll see.

I say with a big sigh
And utter regret
This is goodbye
My mind is set

Legio Patria Nostra.
