A Man Will Be Always Defective Poem by Saniya Galeyeva

A Man Will Be Always Defective

A man will be always defective
When he is not deprived of something.
Is my experience effective?
Or will it bother you, my darling?

You cannot walk.
You are in a wheelchair.
But we can talk.
And after all it is quite clear

That we are head over ears
In love with each other, my dear.

It is our joy and a secret of ours.
We are both disabled, we are not like others.

They do possess health,
Which means everything.
They don't think of death.
They eat, sleep and drink.

They are never fined
And want more and more.
They aren't satisfied
With what's their own.

They steal, cheat and fraud.
They rob, rape and use.
Their hearts are black, cold
And deaf to the mute.

And we are two birds.
In rooms we are caged.
We are made of loss
And we are engaged.

Yes, we are engaged
Without golden rings.
It is a new page
Of hope, wheels and pills.

You swear you love.
I will do the same.
Please, do not go back
On your promise, babe.
