A Metallic Jungle Poem by Benjamin Ng

A Metallic Jungle

I gaze upon a pale blue sky.
Silence,
The Sound of White Noise
Plays Steadily.
Birds Glide by without the beat of wings,
Silver Birds,
The Path of Steel that twists and turns,
Whirl Through
Thoughts of Regret and disgust engulf
My Mind;
The Thick Black Smog Seeps into the air
Confused, and Forgotten.
Lost Sunlight bounces off of unnatural reflections like
My soul,
The Gentle Summer Breeze is
Caged, Secluded
The Soft delicate flowers of life
Tainted, and Withering Away.
God's creatures wander away from this jungle
Never To Return.
