A Missed Call Poem by Aparna Chatterjee

A Missed Call

Last night
I received
A missed
Call from
My past…

Did I cry?

Yes, I cried
A lot.

Did I call back?
No, I didn't.

For, when I had
Needed my past
To be my present
And my future, it
Wasn't there for me.

It had abandoned me.

So I didn't want to
Go back as in the
Present, I see no
Future with my
Past.
