This life lasts but a moment,
It is over far too soon,
The joys you've missed,
The sorrow that stays for all time,
This place remains,
But long weathered after you're gone.
this pulse beats strong at first,
but after a while it slows and weakens.
What I wouldn't give to feel
your arms around me once again.
If only to remind me that I'm still alive.
If only to show we haven't missed
all the moments of this life.
