A Mother Is A Fort - Poem by Joshua Bowden

A mother's love the walls that guard
Her stern rebukes the cannon ports
Her watchful eye a barbican
A mother is a fort

A mother is a citadel
Her calm patience a stronghold gate
Her tears of love the moat that swells
Her child's life her strength au fait
