A Mother's Soliloquy Poem by Girija K S

A Mother's Soliloquy

A Mother's soliloquy

A Mother's soliloquy

With eager, happiness, anguish
care and enthusiasm
I welcomed my baby
to a new world of challenges
Questions and confusions
pouring, not knowing what to do
Will I be able to raise this child
giving it all the motherly love and care
Can I forgive its mistakes
yet shower love in abundance
Can I raise him to be a human being
who cares for others
Can I teach him the virtues
and to see good in all
To respect others views
To follow by his instincts
And not societies craziness
Now the toddler having grown up
taller than her
Rustic, robost, macho and fragile
has gone far away...
In his own dreams and life
Enjoying the youthful days
Lest caring for....
The fear that was in me
laughs loudly
Making a mockery of my dreams
Where have I gone wrong....
Gave him everything in abundance
Shown him the beauty of life,
Right and wrongs
Never tried to hurt him intentionally
Rather wept in silence when hurt,
Yet, there seem to be a gap
in my ideas and his
For in his youth, he feels he's right
I'm wrong
His papa's right, mama wrong
always
Why
Why
Yet I know his love
has no boundaries
Will be there by my side
when in distress.
My toddler growing into
a young man......
With all happiness by his side....
