A Mournful Story Poem by Dr Dolston L Morian

A Mournful Story

Like a mournful story about a battle for life
The virus has become a new epithet
Its tale being told as a loathsome elegy
Regular life has come to a crawling pity
Many now live as though emotionally bitten.

The dirge it causes on its contagious rant
Capturing innocent souls to a mourn mass
It punctures the heart with the wreathed sword
Thousands have fallen to its bloody blade
Corona's a virus hidden in the dark of shade.

It rides on the wings of panic and fear
Vaccinating humanity with the jackal jeer
No one seem beyond the silence of it bite
It laughs at our phobia a morose, a plight
A stealthy serpent with fangs for a sting
Hear the death knell as the night bell rings

You must be strong to survive its dark ray
So, no touch, no hug, no sneeze, no belching
Sanitize your fingers and wash your hands too
You cannot tell where next this lurker will be
Quick, clean all surfaces or a mayhem to see.

Cover nose and mouth with a good mask as well
Do not break the protocol, stand six feet in a spell
It's risky business so stay calm, do your part
Quarantine, isolate and stay at home for a bath
Let God groom you for the prophetic part
It's a mournful poem not good for the heart.
