A Naïve Dream Poem by Stephanie King

A Naïve Dream

In my innocence I descend,
Into a naïve dream of the past;
Reliving those precious moments,
That seemed to diminish, so fast.

A tragic tale of deception,
Distrust and a heavy heart;
Why can’t you see the way that
You have torn my life apart?

Swirls of love and laughter,
Balance between good and bad;
Your evilness has taken over,
But this is only a fad.

Worlds come crumbling down,
When your face appears next to mine;
Asking for forgiveness,
You should try some other time.

An angelic voice in the distance,
Wakes me up at dawn,
But only to let me know that
You’ve disappeared, you’re gone.
