Daddy Poem by Stephanie King

Daddy

It happened too long ago
Though it seems like yesterday
I still remember it clearly
It was a warm autumn day

You never said you loved me
You left without a clue
A removal truck while I’m at school
How convenient for you

Salty tears burned my eyes
As I heard my mothers cries
I know the fun times are now over
As so do my love dies

I can’t even stand to look at you
When we were together you only swore
Beer, friends and TV were important
You would never be the daddy figure I adore

You weren’t very supportive,
But tried your best to be a good dad
But really, at the end of the day
I’d end up being sad

As you live with your new life remember,
It doesn’t matter what you did.
Bear in mind your 13-year-old girl,
She is still your little kid.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

oh! what a wonderful poem and the touching one. Most of the dads dont realise how much we love them.We all need dads by our side.If you are expiriencing that dont worry things will get better.
