A New Home Poem by Martins Akhoeneto

A New Home

He could rarely smile in recent years
But today, so he does, though with mix feelings.
Like a fulfilled man calling for challenge
Not begging the piper to play the tune
He could bade yesterday’s owner farewell
As a marches into his new found love
Sunken with the sweat of his working years
Tolerate the music maker, the boss on top
Welcome him with a handshake of equity
A home is a home when dear ones dwell.
