A New You
I once felt a kind of pain,
It had no end and nothing to gain,
Then one day I threw up my hands,
In the air and declared my plans,
Into the hands of Almighty God,
And confessed I was a fraud,
He said to me my dear child,
I've been right here as He smiled,
Waiting to take the lead,
If i laid down my selfish greed,
In Him my trust I did place,
As He showed my His grace,
He said take heed for I am the way,
Rely on me from day to day,
I will lead you down a path that's right,
And be with you through the fight,
Only I can take your pain,
That has seemed of no gain,
With all the sin in the world today,
Cursing, lying and vile displays,
Is not the way I want you to be,
For this I died so you could see,
Happiness is not found in earthly things,
Look to the one who knows what tomorrow brings,
The choice is yours to make,
I gave my life for your sake,
So that joy may abound,
Where anger did surround,
So I made a choice that led to life,
And replaced my anger and strife,
For now, I know I am never alone,
And my life is not my own,
Daily I lay my desires down,
So that one day I receive a crown,
That I will one day lay at Jesus' feet,
Rejoicing more over the time we finally meet,
Gladly I give this world and its treasure,
Instead to the one who loves me beyond measure,
For Jesus laid His life down for me,
I was undeserving of this act you see,
You too can make this choice today,
To be set free and choose to say,
I accepted Christ in my heart,
Because He promises to never depart,
