A Noise? Poem by Dejanira Packard

A Noise?

A noise. A noise? A noise I hear!
Calling out to me.
It sounds to be quite near.
Oh please, don't you see?
A plead, a cry! HELP!
I hear it, closer now.
Did I hear another yelp?
But how, oh how?
Could I hear this sound?
For I am deaf.
Forever bound,
To take my last breath.
But it was me,
Inside my own head.
Wishing I was free.
Yet, I'm filled with dread...and
You shall never,
Ever see.
Just how clever,
I can be.
I escape from you,
Running now.
I see skys blue.
I have fallen...POW!
Drifting to the dark.
I know I am done for.
You hit your mark
But I wish I could be more,
Than just your toy,
To take life from.
I whisper goodbye.
Though you do not care.
