A Part Poem by Rose Marie Cook

A Part

I was broken
Shattered into a million pieces
Torn apart
Dead.

My other half
Was gone for the first time
So this is what it feels like
To lose him

A feeling I shall never
Ask to experience again
My true love holds my heart
And I his and yet

They have seemed to have
Crumbled into dust
Seeping through our fingertips
No longer surviving without

The touch or air from its owner
The three days has yet to begin
And here I am wishing it to be
Over before another second passes

Without my beloved
Three days
A sentence called to break ones
Heart three days without a

Touch a word or
Even an astonishing look
Three days of pure silence
Emptiness

And lack of love
Within the air
Within the world
Three days till

I see you my love
Once again
Till I can fill your heart
With the love you lack

Till my lips embrace yours
Till then I shall send you
Off with my heart in your
Hands and my voice in

Your grasp and myself
Waiting your return for
Your ever mezmerizing
Glance.
