A Peaceful Goodbye Poem by Michelle Phillips

A Peaceful Goodbye

She lays on the grass
Calm consuming her body
hypnotized by the trees
swaying back and forth
like a pendulum clock
ticking time away.
Her eyes slowly closing
as her body becomes limp
slipping out of consciousness
when she, as beautiful as the most stunning sunset
the most floresent flower
the most elegant eagle
silently slipped away
to the place she sweetly dreamt about all those nights ago.
