A Peep Poem by Hans Raj Sharma

A Peep

Standing
At the peak
Of village hillock
Like an eagle
Sitting on a rock
Or a paraglide
After taking
Deep breath
Taking off
To enjoy
The thrills
As the winged
Creatures
Experience
In the usual
Design of nature.

Down below
The mount
Enchanting
And striking
Paddy fields
Full of water
Blowing
A cool breeze
Multi-coloured
Flowers
Decorating
The whole
Landscape
Like a newly
Wedded-bride
Alluring
With her beguiling
Looks and
Manifestation.

Viewing
Nearby
A view of
Govind Sagar
Sutlej Lake
Water-sports
Therein
Like canoeing
Ferrying
Fishing of
Variety of fish
By the locals
On serene waters
An appealing sight.

Surrounded by
Green-hillocks
Spreading
All directions
Like the abode
Of God
‘Dev-Bhumi’
As the natives call.
