A Perfect Example Of Imperfection Poem by Summer Sandercox

A Perfect Example Of Imperfection

Go ahead and judge me
But think before you do
Not everyone is perfect
No, not even you

I don't want to be another girl
Brainwashed by T.V
Don't want to be another girl
Who thinks she's not good enough to be

I'm the girl who's comfortable
In my clothes, body, and mind
So go ahead and judge me
Let's see what wrongs you find

I'm not going to let the world
Decide where I'm gonna go
I'm going to hold my head high
To be me; my only goal

I may not be perfect
And nor do I want to be
But the only way you'll understand
Is if you just see me, for me

I may not have the prettiest smile
The perfect money-bought face
I don't want to be anorexic
Because that's what T.V says is ideal weight

I was not put on Earth to please you
To be another Barbie clone
I am me, that's all I can be
So tell me what else is wrong

So go ahead and judge me
But think before you do
I'm happy with my imperfections
But tell me girl, are you?
