A Pet That I Love Poem by Benjamin John Davis

A Pet That I Love

One pet stands out most to me
One that is wild and free
A cute little cat?
Not me.
A nice parrot?
Not free.
The only thing I want is
A nice little dog.
But my friends always say
‘They grown in bogs'
I'd buy it now.
My friends always chant
‘Go buy a cow! '
I was mad so I bought it today
‘Oh it was so cute laying in some hay! '
I went to the store to get some essentials
I put them on and named him ‘utensils'.
I showed my friend pictures, they passed them around.
I was waiting or words.
Any minute now!
One of them said, ‘I'm sorry for everything I said,
Now may we come to your house and
Jump on the bed? '
