A Piece Of Me Poem by Steven Holmes

A Piece Of Me

Where are you my gentle breeze?
I long for your caress.
You left for far off seas,
Yet my heart you still possess.

Restless I chase slumber,
Perhaps just a fool with deceitful dreams.
My heart torn asunder,
Helplessly I paw at the seams.

But you'll never cage what longs to be free,
For chains won't hold the summer breeze...
