A Plea For Mercy Poem by Muhaammad mashood Abubakar

A Plea For Mercy

We've come to your place to worship
We natives of land
Pleading for peace
The nomadic farmer has brought
His flock home unsafe
And stand silent beside his huts
Wiping his tears from his brow
And his kids broad in their hut
With melodies of sorrow
Why we, the son of the land
Plead unheeded before you
And our heart filled up with sorrow
But we have come
Pleading for peace and stability
